New Website Coming Soon!

When you’re finished changing, you’re finished.” Benjamin Franklin

Changes are in the works at Demand Metric. While change is often mistaken for progress, we think the changes we’ll discuss here do indeed represent progress. We’ll tell you what we’re getting ready to do and why, then it’s your turn: we’d like to know what you think.

By the end of November, our website will look very different. It is considered a “Best Practice” to communicate proactively to let clients know of such changes in advance. But to just share that a new website is about to go online doesn’t tell the whole story. The new site is not just a facelift, but a reflection of how Demand Metric is expanding the way we will provide value to you.

The story really begins with you – the Demand Metric community. We’re entering our sixth year of business and today we serve over 10,000 members. In the course of providing our members with marketing tools and templates, we listened and learned how they get value from these resources. These insights have influenced our business model, so as a result, we’re expanding the way Demand Metric delivers value. Here are just a few of the changes that you can expect to see from us in 2012:

1 - Advisory Services

One of these changes is a stronger emphasis on providing advisory services. Some of our members need more expertise than is captured in a tool or template. Demand Metric has the intellectual capital to provide services to its members. We have already begun working with some of you to help on projects like justifying a rebranding effort, providing a value proposition presentation for the sales team, developing a product marketing plan or completing a competitive product review. Demand Metric has the expertise on staff or in its network of partners to help complete these and other projects.

2 - Methodologies

Another change you’ll see is a new category of content: Demand Metric methodologies. Our existing library of tools and templates largely address discrete marketing issues. The new methodologies will help our members implement broader business processes to do things like new product development, product marketing plan creation and PR program implementation. These methodologies combine new and existing tools with a recommended process for achieving results.

3 - Community Engagement

A final area of significant change involves community engagement, or as we have said internally, becoming socially acceptable. The new website has several mechanisms to facilitate the sharing of content, comments and ratings among members of the community. Integration with Facebook and LinkedIn are prominent throughout the new site. The Demand Metric community is the largest asset and we felt it important to allow for more collaboration among the membership via social media.

Now it’s your turn: we’d like to know what you think. We feel like we’re increasing the Demand Metric value proposition for our members, but our opinion doesn't count. What do you think? How can we add more value to your membership? What kind of advisory services would you consider using? Which methodologies are you most in need of? What kinds of problems or situations would you like to take to the Demand Metric community to get some insight? We hope you’ll get in touch with us to answer any of these questions, or perhaps just to tell us what else is on your mind. Enter a comment below or send a message to us: info@demandmetric.com.
